Most cities publish an address and a scope of work and leave you to guess who pulled the permit. Austin's Development Services Department publishes the contractor's company name and phone number directly on the filing. That makes every issued permit a lead you can act on the same morning.
What Austin does not reliably publish is the job value — about nine in ten recent permits carry a placeholder figure. We show the value only where the city recorded a real one. We would rather say "not stated" than sell you a number that isn't true.
